9/28/2023 0 Comments Better than faststone capture![]() ![]() When i then go to view them in Faststone they come up as having 2 pages (multipage Tiffs) which behave as if 2 separate images, 1 for the main image and 1 for a much smaller thumbnail (that takes up a fraction of the screen when displayed in Faststone). Um, firstly, my problem is with Tiff files (not RAW files). If the association is broken, it may not then show them. if it shows that.is it maybe possible to EXCLUDE that extension from the big list of file types that Faststone is'associated' with to open. what filename extension do those lttle extra ones have. drop a line to Faststone to tel them exactly what you are getting and see if they can help. although I really can't quite figure out why it doesn't seem to show those secondary files in the main display, if it will show them as part of a scroll ?Īs I think already suggested. as yours do seem to have that extra pic-file which Faststone is then picking up as you scroll trough. it's likely that your RAW files ARE different to others. so I think as probably I remember was said in another reply here. I then simply used the right-arrow key to scroll through the whole folder of CR2's and it did so faultlessly. I got this showing in Faststone and all the thumb-pics from the original CR2's showed perfectly. but I've always kept Faststone and have just now opened that to a folder where I have a lot of Canon CR2 RAW files. I started using ACDSee Photo Manager as a better alternative and updated through the years as I do like ACDSee for all it does. I've had Faststone installed for many years since it is a very nice program for just simply viewing or better still.visually identifying file pics you may want to use for some purpose. I'm sorry that this is likely no answer to your problem but it may at least show another alternative effect of the Faststone Viewer. if you are interested, the donation page is at: It is free but you can donate to show your appreciation and help keep the development going. However, its not freeware, which is strange because Faststone Image Viewer (which is free) seems to do all what MaxView can do plus a lot more!įaststone is by far the best "swiss army knife" for photo viewing. I've tried using Faststone's MaxView viewer instead and the problem dissappears. Lets hope either someone here knows of a solution, or i receive a reply from Faststone (eventually). I also have an issue with viewing similar to yours! CR2 files it hangs, usually requiring 3-4 actuations. I just got a Canon 6D, coming from a Canon T2i and now when scrolling through (right or left arrow keys) the. I've been using FS for many years and only very recently have I had a problem. Has anybody else had that experience or know of a solution? This is ruining what i want to do because often i want to compare 2 images straight after each other. However when i view those Tiffs in Faststone it displays the main image first, but when i want to move onto the next image in the folder, instead of doing that it displays page 2 of the Tiff, which is just a small thumbnail. I've recently started using a new RAW development program from Nikon called Capture NX-D. I love being able to customize it to my needs, and also use it to view, tag and even batch rename my images. My image viewer has always been Faststone. Faststone Image Viewer & Tiff display issue (displaying thumb as page 2) ![]()
